CaGBC Accelerating to Zero Summit: Understanding TEDI

March 28, 2019 at 3:50 pm - 5:00 pm UTC-5

CaGBC Accelerating to Zero Summit

This CaGBC Greater Toronto Chapter  event will deep dive into the business case for zero carbon, insight into recent zero carbon certifications, and best practices from industry leaders. The full-day workshop will take place on Thursday, March 28 in Toronto.

A new metric called Thermal Energy Demand Intensity (TEDI) represents the amount of heat needed to offset the heat loss through the building envelope and condition the ventilation air. TEDI is used to discuss viable approaches to designing and constructing Net Zero ready high-rise residential buildings and elevates the importance of the building envelope. Join Morrison Hershfield’s Alex Blue (Principal & Energy Practice Lead) and Matt Carlsson (Building Science Consultant) for their session Understanding TEDI, while they explain what Thermal Energy Demand Intensity (TEDI) is, why it’s important, and how strategies vary to reduce TEDI in your projects.
