Morrison Hershfield will be presenting two sessions at this year’s Ontario Building Officials
Association Annual Meeting. These sessions, titled Alternative Solutions: Pros and Cons & Tools and Methodologies to Support Alternative Solutions are meant to build on one another, providing input on how to meet the requirements of Ontario Building Code.
Glenn Somerton, Senior Code Specialist, will be presenting Alternative Solutions, Pros and Cons. This seminar will review the Ontario Building Code requirements for Alternative Solutions; and the pros and cons of Alternative Solutions from both the Authority Having Jurisdiction and the Consultant perspective.

Judy Jeske, Vice President and Senior Code Specialist, will present Alternative Solutions: Tools and Methodologies to Assist in the Design and Assessment Process. This presentation will provide some of the processes and tools used in the development, application and evaluation of fire and life safety Alternative Solutions.
Limitations and conditions of each process and tool will be reviewed to provide participants with an understanding of relevancy to various circumstances.
