Plogging is a sustainable initiative coming from Sweden, which combines jogging (or walking) with caring for the environment. This is a growing movement across the globe and we want to bring it to the CWMA conference. Fancy joining us?
This is our second year that we mobilize Ploggers. We provide gloves, buckets and litter pickers. You just need to bring comfortable shoes and a head lamp.

Veronica Bartlett, Solid Waste Planner

Veronica has worked as an environmental consultant for over fifteen years and brings wide-ranging solid waste management experience. Over the last decade, she has developed long-term solid waste management plans and solid waste strategies for various regional districts including the Regional Districts of Central Okanagan, Squamish Lillooet Regional District, and more recently Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine and Peace River Regional District. In 2021 she co-authored a best practice guide aimed at local governments for residential organics curbside collection. Acknowledged for her solid waste expertise, Veronica was appointed as a Board member of the Coast Waste Management Association in June 2022.
Curtis Jung, Solid Waste Engineer

Curtis Jung is an environmental engineer based in Vancouver, BC. He has a decade of experience in solid waste management planning and multidisciplinary infrastructure design and construction projects. He has acted as the technical lead and author on various waste-to-energy (WTE) studies for clients across Western Canada which has included detailed GHG analysis and modelling, market sounding and technology evaluation processes, feedstock and end-market assessments, and detailed costing. He has experience with emerging WTE technologies, including mixed-waste processing and materials recovery approaches used to maximize the value of residual waste. Recently, he was the technical lead and primary report author for ECCC’s WTE Study, which reviewed WTE approaches within Canada and internationally.
