In order to determine if landfill closure was necessary, Morrison Hershfield provided historical research and physical inspection of 27 active and abandoned municipal waste landfill sites in the Metro Vancouver region. Pragmatic solutions were applied that protected environmental values while avoiding unnecessary future landfill closure planning costs at sites representing low environmental risks.
