The 44-story, 760,000 SF commercial office and hotel tower boasts a geometric, folded curtain wall façade with a goal of maximizing window heights. Due to the unique design of the tower, Morrison Hershfield provided rain sheeting and gutter design consultation to help direct rainflow, in addition to our usual building envelope consulting services. University of Washington Life Sciences Building
The Life Sciences Building is a 187,000 SF state-of-the-art building and includes an 18,000 SF greenhouse with a rooftop deck and courtyard. The design of the building provides a high-quality, innovative and sustainable environment to its students and faculty. Morrison Hershfield provided building envelope consulting services in collaboration with architects, designers and students from UW Solar. The facility was named the 2018 Building of the Year by Seattle’s Daily Journal of Commerce. (Seattle, WA)
The Gridiron development preserves the historic Seattle Plumbing Company Building and adds a new 12-story mid-rise, residential tower. The 158,000 SF condominium will include over 100 residences, commercial space, a 360-degree rooftop view, expansive windows and balconies for specific units. Morrison Hershfield provided building envelope consulting services to comply with the Seattle Energy Code including limited window-to-wall ratio, continuous exterior insulation and whole building air leakage testing. One Bellevue Center
The high-rise commercial office building is 21-stories and 365,000 SF with four levels of below grade parking. The building’s cladding and curtain wall elements include full-height framed vision and spandrel glass assemblies. Morrison Hershfield conducted a building envelope condition assessment which included a visual review of the curtain wall from a bosun chair at multiple elevations. (Bellevue, WA)
