At 180,000 SF, the Louisa Flower’s new 12-story building is Multnomah County’s largest affordable housing structure, with 240 apartments, commercial and retail space on the ground floor and a green roof. The project is LEED Platinum certified, earning Gold Nugget Awards, Award of Merit, Best Innovative Energy Design and Earth Advantage Green Builder of the Year Awards, LEED for Homes Project Team and received first place in the DJC 2020 TopProjects for Affordable Housing. Grant High School Modernization
This 293,000 SF renovation project expanded and modernized the existing historic high school with new state-of-the-art learning spaces and a seismic and façade renovation. The project achieved LEED Silver certification and received the 2020 DeMuro Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation for the preservation, reuse and revitalization of architectural and cultural sites. It also finished first in the DJC 2020 TopProjects in Primary Education. Hyatt Regency Hotel at the Oregon Convention Center
This DJC 2020 TopProject in Hospitality, Retail and Residential is a 440,000 SF, 14-story, 600 key hotel located on the Oregon Convention Center campus in downtown Portland. It includes a restaurant, fitness center, meeting and ballroom spaces, a lobby bar and an indoor swimming pool. Morrison Hershfield provided design review, construction administration services and conducted field review during construction. (Portland, OR)
41 West Condominiums
The new 41 West luxury condominium is a 10-story building with retail space on the ground floor and 41 residences with floor-to-ceiling windows on the upper levels. The facility includes a lounge, a golf simulator and a fully equipped fitness studio. Multnomah County Central Courthouse
The new 460,000 SF, 17-story courthouse was constructed to replace the structurally and functionally obsolete existing building that did not meet current seismic codes or the security needs of the users. It is an L-shaped building housing 44 courtrooms and additional office space constructed to meet the greater demand of the growing population. Morrison Hershfield provided building envelope commissioning services through the design, construction and post-occupancy phases of the project. (Portland, OR)
Edward J. Ray Hall - Oregon State University Cascades
Currently under construction, this new 50,000 SF, four-story academic building is designed to use little to zero energy. The net-zero energy building incorporates mass timber from the Pacific Northwest and uses a water-based system for heating and cooling. It contains nine new classrooms, three labs and additional learning space. Morrison Hershfield is providing design review and field review during construction. (Bend, OR)
Arbor Crossing at Quatama
This large community made up of 54, three-story multiplex buildings with 324 residential units underwent a rehabilitation involving siding and window replacements and corrections to the deck framing. Morrison Hershfield provided details and specifications, bidding services, construction administration services and field review during construction. (Beaverton, OR)
Vista St. Clair Apartments
The extensive rehabilitation of the 14-story Vista St. Clair apartment building included roof replacement, window replacement, balcony updates, a complete redesign of the plaza deck and an interior renovation of the front entrance lobby, staircase landings and front landscape. Morrison Hershfield provided building envelope consulting services along with design details and specifications, bidding and permitting services, construction administration services and field review during construction.
